Kitchen organisation – Step 2: Plan what’s coming into your kitchen and what’s going out

Girl Recycling Kitchen Waste In Recycling Bin

Reducing food waste saves you money & is better for the environment

One of the things I’m teaching my 5yr old son is to eat healthy.

To make it as easy as possible, it’s good to stock up on healthy options (and hide the chocolate where he can’t find it).

But, do you find that some of that fresh fruit & veg goes off before you can use it?

Or do you save leftovers with good intentions, but forget about it and have to chuck it out?

Did you know that 1 in 5 bags of groceries that we buy end up in the bin?

That works out at around $300 a month for the average Australian!

Take a moment to think about that.

What could you do with an extra $300 a month?

Not only is throwing out food a waste of money, but a lot of people put it in their general waste and it ends up in landfill.

Food waste gives off methane gas which is really bad for the environment. It also attracts pests and can be harmful to our wildlife if they eat it.

Watch Step 2 of my Kitchen organisation series below, where I talk about having a plan for what’s coming into your kitchen and what’s going out.
